Upcycling: Security Envelopes
Sun, Jan 21, 2018
I am quite the fan of upcycling materials, especially for papercrafts. Today I would like to introduce to you my current favourite item to upcycle: security envelopes.

Security envelopes are envelopes that have a printed pattern on the interior. You probably receive them regularly in your mail wrapped around your bills. The complicated patterns should make it very difficult for someone to try to read your mail in search of sensitive information without actually opening it.
I've used these patterns in a variety of projects, including gift tags, greeting cards, and, of course, making them back into envelopes.

Of course, I'm not the first to have though to reusing these wonderful patterns. Sarah Nicole Philips makes these delightful collages. Joseph King has a huge ongoing collection of security patterns on Flickr.
I have started my own little collection of security envelope patterns.
